The Fruit of our Lips

I love the way that the Lord gives me what I need to hear, even though it is not always what I want to hear!

After complaining and accusing last night, the Lord took me to multiple passages this morning, helping me to see that my circumstances are not my problem.  Instead, the problem is my response to the circumstances.

Looking out my window, I see the evidence of Spring.  Flowers are budding and leaves are beginning to grow.  I love this time of year because it is green and hopeful.  However, I need to remember that this hope comes as the result of toil and pain. New life always comes from struggle- the breaking of soil and the pain of labor.

God’s word gives us the promise that our mourning will turn to joy.  Therefore, as we struggle, may the sounds we make be of praise that herald the joy to come, instead of ingratitude and bitterness.  “Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name.” Hebrews 13:15

Today, may the fruit of our lips be hope, not hopelessness.  Listen to the song below and let it help you offer a sacrifice of praise!
