My prayer journal this morning is full of intercessions for the fearful and broken-hearted. A friend, who is mourning the recent passing of her mother, a young family faced with the frightening reality of a heart transplant for their two-year-old child, and the nations of Venezuela and Cuba, gripped in conflict, inner turmoil, and oppression. Sometimes the magnitude of need seems beyond help!
But then, God reminds us of His promises! “The Lord lives, and blessed be my rock, and exalted be the God of my salvation—
the God who gave me vengeance and subdued peoples under me, who rescued me from my enemies; yes, you exalted me above those who rose against me; you delivered me from the man of violence. For this I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations, and sing to your name. Great salvation he brings to his king, and shows steadfast love to his anointed, to David and his offspring forever” (Psalm 18: 46-50).
Today, let’s not allow the events of the world to place us in despair. Instead, let us claim this promise, as descendants of David, through the sacrifice of Jesus, that makes us joint heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17). God’s mighty hand and His unfailing love will sustain all those who face the storms of life and the attacks of the enemy!
**Please join me in praying for the millions of people in Venezuela and Cuba who are facing severe oppression and suffering. Also, please consider helping in a tangible way, through your financial donations to Proclaim Cuba.
